Centerville GA was established in the early 1800's by the Busbay family who promptly named the area Busbayville. The name was changed to Hattie around 1885, by Mitchell Etheridge (the only store owner), after his oldest daughter. It stayed that way until Hattie was incorporated on January 1st 1958 and renamed Centerville.
Centerville has a total area of 2.8 square miles, all land, and is midway north/south between Macon and Perry and also at the midpoint west/east between Byron and Warner Robins. The zip code in Centerville is 31028.
